The publication titled “Museum of Female Stories” is concluding a three-year (2014/2016) art-research project of the co-authors Iskra Geshoska, Hristina Ivanoska, Violeta Kachakova and Biljana Tanurovska-Kjulavkovski, that deals with the historical and contemporary role of the women in the larger socio-political context in Macedonia.
“Museum of Female Stories” came out of the necessity to explore, perceive and (re)affirm the role of the women in the socio-political, public and domestic context through reading of the cultural meanings, symbols, associations, hidden behind the historical facts and documents from the first half of 20-century in the cities of Bitola, Prilep and Krusevo of the Pelagonija Region.
The publication is a collection of texts by various authors, some associates or supporters of the project from the beginning, some of them invited as authors to give different and important contribution to the subject taking into account their professional actions and fields of interest. Authors of texts are: Rubinco Belchevski, Anastas Vangeli, Iskra Geshoska, Hristina Ivanoska, Ilina Jakimovska, Goran Janev, Violeta Kachakova, Aleksandar Litovski, Elena Marchevska and Biljana Tanurovska-Kjulavkovski.
This is e-publication available only in Macedonian language and it is free for download. We are planning to issue a hard copy of the book which will be promoted together with an exhibition in Skopje in the fall of 2017.
“Museum of Female Stories” is published by Lokomotiva – Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture, Skopje in the frame of Decentralized cooperation program between Lower Normandy Region – France and Republic of Macedonia.
