This is not a political work
This is not a piece of art
This is not a documentation of people living in Skopje

Theo Ågren and Bjørn Hegardt

The project’s starting point is Skopje and its residents. After visiting various homes in and around the city, photographing interiors and objects, the result will be presented as an installation in press to exit project space. By mixing belongings, meaningful or useless, together in a whirlwind, the photo-installation is a portrait of the interaction between the residents and the artists.

The artists Theo Ågren and Bjørn Hegardt have collaborated since 1998, on a number of projects including “Office” at IASPIS (Stockholm) and “The Calm before the Storm” at Gallery F15 (Moss, Norway).

The Norwegian/Swedish artist Bjørn Hegardt (born 1974) lives and works in Berlin. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim, Norway (2001). In addition, he is the founder and editor of FUKT – a Magazine for contemporary drawing. The last issue focusing on animation was launched at Berliner Kunstsalon in September 2006.
